Cleveland Metroparks Zoo (Visit this link)
Beginning with Jeptha H. Wade's donation of land and a herd of American deer in Wade Park in 1882, the Cleveland Zoo has developed into one of the finest zoos in the nation. Originally located in the University Circle area, the zoo was moved in 1916 to Brookside Park and the Big Creek Valley. The Cleveland Zoo regularly draws over one million visitors annually. One of its major attractions is The RainForest, which recreates a piece of the Amazon jungle in the heart of Northeast Ohio. The new kids' exhibit, Australian Adventure, provides a total Aussie experience. Annual events include Boo-at-the-Zoo, Howl at the Moon, and Earth Day Festival. The Zoo is open daily from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. Summer weekend and holiday hours extend to 7:00 pm.
