AzRA Discovery is a small, family owned business that has been outfitting trips in the Grand Canyon for three generations. Rob Elliott and his dad, Lou, ran their first river trip through the Grand Canyon together in 1965 and not long after, Rob bought the operation from his parents. Rob's children-Anthea, Alexandra, and Adam-all grew up on the river. Running river trips in the Grand Canyon is what we love and a big part of who we are.
Our goal is to provide safe and enjoyable river adventures through the Grand Canyon. We want every step of your selection, preparation, and river adventure to be convenient, satisfying, and personal.
We think you will find our guides wonderfully caring, knowledgeable about the Grand Canyon and the world beyond. Most importantly, they are genuinely fun to be around. You will have many opportunities to become involved in day-to-day life on the river. You will learn much about the land, the river, and ancient Southwest cultures. Our guests frequently tell us they return home with a fresh perspective on what's important in their lives.
You take care of what you care about and the environment is very important to us. Our staff devotes personal time to environmental issues on the Colorado Plateau. We are committed to recycling, "green" purchasing, and otherwise minimizing our environmental footprint. We contribute 1% of total sales to environmental education and organizations working to protect and restore natural habitats and living systems on Earth, because a healthy planet is good for all of us.
