Arrowhead Desert Tours was started a quarter of a century ago by Tom, "Paydirt" DeStories. After years of prospecting with a pick and shovel, "PAYDIRT" made a gold strike on the Agua Fria River, north of Phoenix. The Arizona Department of Mines and Minerals has recognized its' authenticity and listed Paydirt's deposit in it's official mining archives as "THE DESTORIES GOLD PLACER." The United States government has included "Paydirts" gold claim in the newly created Agua Fria National Monument.

"Paydirt" ,a friendly and gregarious sort, wanted to share his knowledge and love of the Sonoran Desert with all the visitors and tourists who flock to the "Valley of the Sun", and so, was born "Arrowhead Desert Tours". Today, Arrowhead Desert Tours offers a variety of "Action Packed Western Adventures" for Corporate groups, individuals and families. Our vast desert trail areas and river canyons are spectacular, pristine and contain a wide variety of " four wheel drive" terrain like no other seen in the Phoenix / Scottsdale area.
