Mt. McKinley Tour- Travel up the picturesque Mat-Su valley with the Susitna River and its tributaries in view below. Look for wildlife and active gold claims. Fly up the Kahiltna Glacier, one of the largest on the mountain, and over the head of the impressive Tokositna Glacier. Majestic snow-covered peaks surround you as you enter the valley of the grand Ruth Glacier. You are at the 8,000-foot level and Mt. McKinley soars another 12,000 ft. above you! Columbia Glacier- This is one of the most spectacular flights near Anchorage. In just over 2 hours, it is possible to see 34 or more glaciers - something not many people have ever seen! In fact, you see the first glacier within 15 minutes of takeoff! Observe Dall sheep frolicking on the ledges of the Chugach Mountains. Pass over crevasse-laden Knik Glacier and frigid Lake George. Fly over the saddle, and see the Ivy League Glaciers, with the magnificent Columbia Glacier just below. See seals basking on the icebergs in Prince William Sound. Your return flight passes Whittier, Portage and Cook Inlet. A trip you will always remember!
Prince William Sound- Flying above historic Merrill Field, you have a panoramic view of Anchorage. Next you pass over Eagle River, one of the fastest growing communities in Alaska. Looking up the valley you see the impressive Eagle River Glacier. You fly along the Chugach Mountain Range, with some peaks rising ten thousand feet high. Mt. McKinley can be seen in the distance. Then you look down on the great Knik Glacier, with its brilliant blue ice. On your return to Anchorage, you glimpse at Lake George, Prince William Sound and beautiful Knik Arm. Mountain goats, Dall sheep and moose are frequently spotted on the trip.
Kenai Fjords and Harding Icefield- You lift off Merrill Field and fly southeast over Anchorage. Following Turnagain Arm, with its numerous passes leading into the beautiful Chugach Mountains, observe Dall sheep grazing on lofty grasslands. Next go through the pass that leads to the historic city of Seward. Seward is located at the head of Resurrection Bay, where Orca whales frolic in the crisp, clear waters. Fly through Resurrection Pass. To the south is the great Harding Icefield, one of the largest in the world, and the dazzling Kenai Fjords. Beautiful Skilak Lake is straight ahead. Pass over the Kenai Moose Range and Swanson River oil field. View Cook Inlet and the Alaska Range as you return to Anchorage.
Knik Glacier and Lake George- View the lofty Chugach Mountains rising out of Turnagain Arm. Climb through the valleys sprinkled with Dall sheep. Observe glistening glaciers on the horizon. Suddenly the valley leading to Eagle River comes into view. On a clear day majestic Mt. McKinley appears to the Northwest. You also view the Anchorage Bowl, with the Alaska Range as a backdrop, and you can see the mountain called the "Sleeping Lady".
Wildlife Tour- Look for caribou, moose, Dall sheep, mountain goats, bear, bald eagles, swans and many other kinds of animals. We will show you beautiful scenery and the sights of a lifetime.
Volcanoes- See TWO active volcanoes - Mt. Redoubt, and Mt. Spurr. Mt. Spurr last erupted in 1992, and Mt. Redoubt in 1990. Occasionally, you see steam escaping from their craters. View offshore oil platforms in Cook Inlet. Watch white Beluga whales breach as they follow the salmon. Fly over glacial rivers, fish camps, commercial fishing boats, the Native Village of Tyonek and the Drift River Oil Terminal. You can also see glaciers, wildlife (including moose and bears) and other great scenery!
