Pacific surf school was established in 1997 at Mission Beach , San Diego . It is the labor of love of former Californian lifeguard and ex-professional surfer Emiliano Abate. Since then has formed together with other surfing individuals and companies which have brought Pacific surf to where it stands today.

Pacific surf school is an officially licensed,insured surf school and surf camp , permited by the city of San Diego and has been forming over 25,000 surfers successfully since 1998.

Pacific surf school also branched out globally offering a variety of year round surf trips and surf camps in various destinations in Brazil , Indonesia , Portugal and Mexico.

Our Mission and Philosophy- Surfing is a unique experience that can be considered both an art form and an athletic pursuit. It is a lifestyle , a way of life and a great recreational activity that promotes physical fitness,great health, alleviates and relieves stress, and ALLOWS YOU TO BE IN TOUCH WITH NATURE.

"There is nothing that a good day of surf won't cure" - it's very therapeutic! To be able to go surfing after a hectic day's work is great for both body and soul. Surfing is something you can do by yourself or with friends to have fun, keep fit, or get away from it all.

Pacific Surf School is proud to share our surfing knowledge and expertise so that everyone can enjoy the ocean as much as we do. We strive on working you phsichologically and to help prepare those that have a great fear of the ocean.Many people have always wanted to surf but don't know how to go about it, plus the equipment, the ocean, the other surfers and the complexity of surfing may be very daunting to the uninitiated. But when properly shown how, a lot of the initial frustration can be avoided. Surfing is an activity that everyone can enjoy at their own level. Many of our students have taken one or two lessons, become addicted to surfing, buy their own board and wetsuit and never look back! Others enjoy the personal attention and group atmosphere of lessons and come weekly to surf with their new surfing buddies.

Pacific Surf School has successfully formed surfers and introduced thousands of people into the world of surfing and exposed them to its benefits of spiritual, emotional and physical well-being. Whatever your goals, surfing is challenging, fun, a great way to keep fit and meet people. Deciding to learn how to surf is guaranteed to open up a whole new way of life for you!

Learn from our team of friendly professionals- They want to make sure that you have the best experience possible out there in the surf. Our team consists of local and international surfing enthusiasts.They like to embrace the surfing lifestyle however are also qualified paramedics, doctors and phischology students and teachers.

They will prepare you so that you feel safe and secure about your self and the ocean. That's why we don't just give you a team of expert and professional surfers to learn with, but we also make sure our instructors can convey their knowledge through strong teaching skills - not to mention that they also have over 10 years of surfing experience but also superior safety training and are all certified in CPR and first aid.

Our instructors go through a rigorous training program, Level 1 or higher surfing coaching accreditation. They're also a great crew to have fun with.
