Eastern Oregon skiers are descendants of super humans. Skiers of the 1930's climbed four thousand feet through knee-deep snow on foot to reach their favorite winter playground, only to unleash their bodies to the, sometimes ruthless, mercies of six foot wooden planks.
Today, Ski Anthony Lakes is still a place to become submerged in the light dry snow of which epic powder days are made. While everything seems to be super-sized and injected with all things artificial, purists will find an unspoiled vertical playground here at eight thousand feet.
