We have 21 slopes and trails, to thrill the expert or satisfy the beginner as well as Zero Gravity Terrain Park where the thrills cease to stop. Gunny’s Gorge tubing park is an exciting delight, no skis, no poles, no kidding! Snow tubing captures all the fun of traditional sledding but goes a step further. We have excellent support facilities too; the areas finest restaurants, upgraded snowmaking firepower, a first rate ski shop, the friendliest staff around, and the finest base facilities.

Swain’s Snow Sports School- For over 50 years, the Swain Snow Sports School has been helping Swain guests achieve their goals of becoming better skiers and riders. Under the command of Dave Davis, our snow sports school professionals are trained to teach you the latest techniques in skiing and riding. A majority of our staff is PSIA and AASI certified. What does that mean to you? It means our instructors train to obtain nationally recognized certification from the Professional Instructors of America (PSIA) and American Association of Snowboarding Instructors (AASI). They learn the latest in snow sports teaching and pass it on to you!
Ski Patrol- Our ski patrol provides first aid and rescue services to skiers, riders, and participants of other snow sports. Patrollers are trained with the first aid necessary to stabilize and transport casualties to advanced care. Patrol men and women work to promote ski safety, enforce area policies, and help injured skiers and riders when necessary. Ski patrollers also work to set up the mountain before it opens by conducting trail checks, setting up equipment in preparation for the day, and skiing every slope to give a detailed report of the ski conditions for the day. At the end of the day, they also conduct a sweep clearing the mountain for off-hours. Contrary to the name’s implications, ski patrollers can be snowboarders in addition too Alpine, Telemark, or Nordic skiers. Our ski area also has a junior ski patrol program where teenagers can work as patrol, without full duties and without medical training.
Safety and Security- Safety and Security is important to us at Swain. With Hank Webber at the helm, he utilizes his over 20 years of security experience here at Swain to ensure a welcoming and safe environment. Our security department is run by NYS Certified Security Officers, and the security staff is on duty during operating hours to assist our customer’s every need.
Rental Facility- Our rental shop is one of the largest, most up to date equipment rental shops in the area. We have over 600 pair of Rossignal and Elan skis with Dalbello boots as well as 100 Elan and Switch snowboards. We also have a full line of Boeri helmets to ensure your safety on the slopes. Stop in and let our certified technicians get your skis back in shape for winter with a wax and tune. We have what it takes to make your skiing and riding experience a blast!
Mountain Operations- What don’t these guys do?!? Nothing can beat the Weaver brother duo. With over 72 years of experience between them, Harry and Lyle lead an unbeatable team of mountain operators. The lifts, the grooming, the snowmaking…our slopes are ‘White Hot’! Even with the latest equipment operating in the best possible environment Swain slopes wouldn’t be what they are today without our master mountain crew. This crew is dedicated and committed to providing the best ski conditions around. You can notice the difference, the Swain difference.
