If you'd like to try scuba we do offer splash parties in our heated pool. We will give you an overview of a modern diving system and how it works, as well as an exciting audio/visual presentation about some of the diving adventures that are offered through Planet Ocean. All the gear is provided and the small fee of $10 can be applied towards a scuba certification class. Minimum of 4 people.
If you're reasonably healthy, have the desire, and are at least 12 years old, chances are you can become a certified scuba diver and join the thousands who love and enjoy this fantastic sport! And you don't have to be a great swimmer, just comfortable in the water. You can learn to scuba in a matter of days or weeks, depending on your class schedule. And if you're very busy, we can teach you the basics at your convenience in our heated pool at Planet Ocean. Learning to dive is fun and easy for most.But the real fun begins when you receive your certification and begin your adventures diving on the many exciting fresh and salt water trips that are planned all year round through Planet Ocean Scuba Center.
Planet Ocean has been in Columbus since 1972, and we have many divers who started diving years ago who are still diving with us. Our customer base has grown to a large number over the years, so a big part of what we offer is on-going continuing education courses for our divers. Special advanced courses in night diving, underwater navigation, deeper diving , photography, and enriched air or Nitrox are just some of the classes available. And to keep everyone in the water having fun, Planet Ocean organizes monthly trips to the nearby Florida panhandle as well as trips to exciting tropical dive destinations like Cozumel and Grand Cayman. There are often six or more Caribbean trips per year, and every other year we offer exotic.
