Western Australian Museum Geraldton (Visit this link)

The stories of tragedy and triumph on the Abrolhos Islands are told in this gallery, from the famous Batavia mutiny full of blood lust and murder to the inspiring saga of human ingenuity displayed by Zeewyck survivors. The gallery features a number of artefacts from the four shipwrecks, including glimmering silver coins, cannons and the magnificent Batavia stone portico.

The Mid West region, stretching from the desert to the sea and the islands of the Abrolhos, has a diversity of landscapes, wildflowers and wildlife. The largest gallery in the Museum explores the wonders of this natural diversity, as well as exploring the social history and the lives of the indigenous Yamaji people and the impact of European settlement, looking at themes such as transport, industry and regional development.
