Lost World Caverns (Visit this link)

Descend beneath the Greenbrier Valley into a wonderland of stalactites and stalagmites, including some of the world's most exemplary cavern formations. All you'll need for a self-guided 35-minute tour are a light jacket and comfortable walking shoes. Lost World Caverns features the nation's largest compound-stalactite, the 30-ton "Snowy Chandelier," which is one of the world's best displays of pure white calcite. The Guiness World Record for stalagmite sitting was set in the caverns in 1971 by Bobby Addis, of Parkersburg, West Virginia, who endured a vigil at the top of the 28-foot-tall "War Club" for 15 days, 23 hours, and 22 minutes.

The Lost World Caverns Visitor Center & Natural History Museum is open daily and includes a 3,000 sq. ft. gift shop featuring geodes, minerals, replica fossils, and other items of geologic and scientific interest. The museum features the largest collection of dinosaur and fossil replicas in West Virginia. Our modern visitor center accommodates large groups and includes bus and RV parking. A picnic and playground area are also available at the visitor center. Lost World Caverns is located just outside historic Lewisburg, West Virginia -- one of National Geographic Magazine's Top-Ten U.S. communities. Shops, cafes, galleries, and fine restaurants fill its nationally famous arts and commercial district. Visit our links area for more information on Greenbrier Valley lodging, dining, exhibits, and attractions.

Wild Cave Tours- Leave the lighted catwalks of the cavern proper and descend into show cave. Lost World's expert guides will customize a four-and-a-half-hour adventure through caverns more than a mile beyond the developed commercial cave area.
