In addition, we have added above ground Gemstone Mining at all of our properties in the Gold Country and free sign-posted nature trails at California Cavern and Moaning Cavern. Visitors to Black Chasm can ask for a map to take the free nature hike. Sutter Gold Mine also offers free movies in the Gold Theatre on the history of gold mining and above ground gold panning.

We strive to provide a rich and enjoyable experience for our guests at each of our locations and do all we can to accommodate any special needs or requests.

In addition to providing an entertaining and fascinating underground experience at each of our locations, we also provide education.

At the caverns we describe the geologic processes which occured to form each cavern and its speleothems (formations), the role of caverns in human culture and history, and the importance of protecting these fragile and precious, ever-evolving, natural environments.

At the gold mine we provide information on California's Gold Rush history and methodologies, modern gold mining and today's uses of gold, and the geologic processes which occured to bring gold to the Mother Lode.
