Lilyponds Holiday Park (Visit this link)
Welcome to Lilyponds Holiday Park. Lilyponds is a family owned and run caravan park situated in a beautiful rural setting in Mapleton at the northern end of the beautiful Blackall Range overlooking Queenslands' Sunshine Coast. We have a range of accommodation from well equipped and comfortable self contained ensuite cabins to camping amongst the trees in our avocado orchard.
We are members of the Top Tourist chain and offer all the benefits that membership brings. Lilyponds is a great base for your holiday on the coast. Your can enjoy the pace of the coastal strip and escape back to the peace and quite of the hills, or you can simply kick back and relax while you are here.
The secret of lilyponds is that it is uncomplicated, we want you to enjoy a relaxing time here. So we have concentrated on providing facilities and features that give you a simple, easy day to reduce the stress factor of the modern life.
Our camp ground is an avocado orchard with mature trees growing as they should. They sweep the ground with their branches and bear exceptional fruit. During our avocado picking season (April to October) we pick the fruit for you to take home.
We have a small playground for small children where they can climb and slide from morning to dusk.
If you want to just laze in the pool, or take the kids for a swim, our pool is perfect. We have a wading end for little ones, and a deeper end for the bigger ones. We try to keep things as natural as possible at Lilyponds, so we do not heat the pool.
We have free undercover gas BBQ’s for you, two are in the camp ground and one is by our lilypond. Both sites have BBQ tables and chairs.
We have our own very soft water supply from a natural spring. We also have a rain water tank if you want to use rain water for drinking.
If you are travelling with a family, we have a family bathroom and a babies bathroom. If you have trouble with steps, we have a disabled bathroom for caravanners and campers.
Our main amenities has good hot showers and large changing areas. We have a laundry for those times when washing must be done.
For the self contained caravan and motorhome we have a dump point. Our park is on septic tanks so we can only take environmentally friendly waste.
The camp kitchen is well equipped and set up for campers and caravanners to use. There is a TV lounge as part of the kitchen, plus a couple of good kitchen tables to help you enjoy a social time with other guests.
We have some quiet spots around the park where you can sit and enjoy the bird life of the lilypond or just relax and read a book. If twitching is your passion bring your binoculars and see if you can add to our list of birds.
We have a reputation as a quiet park, and it is well deserved. Our guests tell us that they really enjoy the simplicity of our park, the peace and quiet, but most of all they enjoy just being here and doing next to nothing while they recharge their batteries.
If you want to camp amongst the trees and still get a good hot shower, then our camp ground is just for you. We have spaces between our grand old avocado trees that take tents of varying sizes and shapes. Some sites are for couples and some are for family groups.
We have a range of sites to suit the range of caravans on the road today. We have large pull through sites (at least one is big enough for a fifth wheeler). We have smaller sites that can take an A van, and one set up for a rear opener. The park is well grassed to give you extra space to relax.
Our park is on top of a hill and our park layout follows the natural contours of the ground. Some of our sites are in a line, some are not, some are drive through, some are reverse in but all are level. The diversity all adds to the ambience that is part of Lilyponds.
Our sites have slabs for your annex, plus water, power and sullage. TV reception can be indifferent, so we can connect you to our TV aerial from most of our caravan sites.
Our cabins are all different, but they all offer a high standard of facilities. The cabins are scattered throughout the park, under trees or surrounded by gardens.
Our cabins are all ensuite with cooking facilities (hot plate and microwave) and a well equipped kitchen with crockery, cutlery, pots and pans.
All the cabins have TV, fridge, fans and heaters. Our nights are cooler than on the coast, so all our double beds have a doona, and there is a blanket for each bed in the cabin. We include some tea, coffee, sugar and milk so you can have a ‘cuppa’ when you arrive.
The Lilyponds Lodge opened in December 2004. There are four lockable bedrooms, two have a set of bunk beds and two have a double bed with a single bunk over it. The Lodge shares the camp kitchen and TV lounge and is a short walk to the amenities block.
It provides a perfect alternative to outdoors camping in winter or wet weather and is designed to give a high standard of accommodation to the budget conscious.
