Cooktown Caravan Park (Visit this link)
The park is situated on 5 acres of thick forest in the foothills of Mt Cook. All sites are protected from strong sunlight and we also have a variety of native wildlife that also call the park home.
We offer modern facilities that are all built to current building standards including access for the disabled. Our showers have been described by the 'Lets Go' guide as the best in Australia. Like their people found, we like to provide you a clean comfortable place to enjoy your stay in Cooktown every day.
We charge on a per site basis whether you want to stay in a caravan, camper or tent. We can also cater for Tour buses, and the larger special interest camping groups.
Cooktown is located north of the Daintree National Park. Looking north features the aboriginal reserve Hopevale which puts Cooktown in a unique position where it will be always surrounded by unspoilt nature. Town history dates way back to James Cook and the early exploration days, through the goldrush period, to today where tourism and primary industry across Cape York are the main sources of income.
Cooktown Caravan Park is located in the foothills of Mt Cook within the main town boundaries of Cooktown. Hope St is the main road into town from the south so keep a lookout to the right after you come into town.
We are only a few hundred metres just around the bend when you start to get the feel like you are entering a town.
We are a short walk or drive to the river and easily within reach of all attractions in town. Our location is peaceful and away from the sand and midge flies found down closer to the river.
