Oklahoma Aquarium (Visit this link)

The freshwater that gently laps the banks of the Arkansas River wasn't always so unhurried. It once splashed down a mountainside during the spring thaw, raced along the rocky bed of a

Colorado trout stream and carved its way through deep valleys before resting briefly in an alpine lake. And though it has come a long way from its icy, freshwater beginnings, its journey is far from over. From here it will eventually weave its way to the Mississippi River, spill into the Gulf of Mexico and, finally, flow out into the open sea.

The Oklahoma Aquarium, located in Jenks, Oklahoma is the story of this drop of water. Told through the many beautiful and diverse life forms it touches and sustains on its 2,000-mile journey to sea. Major theme galleries with hundreds of exhibits set in natural habitats recreate this fascinating journey for aquarium visitors. Guests will walk through a surprisingly large range of ecosystems, and walk away with a deeper understanding of the importance of the sometimes calm, sometimes raging water that covers seventy percent of our planet.
