Flamingo Land (Visit this link)
We want your stay at Flamingo Land to be as enjoyable as we can possibly make it. That means, as well as offering lots of fun and entertainment in the park, we provide every possible comfort in your holiday home. (Please bring your own bed linen and towels). After all, even at Flamingo Land, there are times when all you want to do is relax.
With no less than eight coaster rides and six other nail biting chillers, Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo definitely is the theme park for those of you who like to be frightened out of their wits. White Knuckle Valley, as the name suggests, is home to seven of these white knuckle rides including, the Wall’s Magnum Force, Top Gun, the Cliff Hanger, Terroriser and the Bullet.
Wall’s Magnum Force – White Knuckle Hell! Come face to face with this monster of a ride – Europe’s only triple looping rollercoaster. This true favourite thrusts the unwitting passenger along a mile of twisting track at break-neck speed (reaching a G Force of 5) while offering a spectacular view of the Yorkshire Moors from a breath-taking height of 100 feet.
Top Gun – Fantasy fun! Eat your heart out Tom Cruise! This roaring flight simulator ride allows the passenger in the cockpit to manoeuvre himself through blood-rushing 360-degree spins in a torpedo style fuel-injected flight of fantasy.
Cliff Hanger – Are you prepared to be dropped from the stomach churning height of 120 feet? And then catapulted back into orbit at a force of 4 Gs? If you like a challenge then take your seat for Cliff Hanger, the gravity defying free fall that tests even the bravest of the brave.
Terroriser – The UK’s only ride combining the death-defying plunging sensation of a rollercoaster with the bone-shaking spinning of a waltzer. Fast, furious and all the fun of the fear.
The Bullet – Mechanical changes in 1998 will thrill a whole new generation of revellers. A unique propulsion effect rockets passengers to the peak of the highest rollercoaster drop of its kind before plunging at kamikaze speed into a 360-degree revolution. Remarked to be one of the best coasters in the world by the UK Rollercoaster Group following a visit in 2000, the Bullet attracts visitors from all over the world. Try it if you dare!
As well as stomach-churning white knuckle thrillers, Flamingo Land offers a whole host of wonderful rides and attractions for youngsters to enjoy.
These include the Dragon Coaster and Tea-Cup ride in Little Monster’s Den of Mischief, as well as the Junior Driving School and high flying Jets.
For those of you just too small for the dizzy heights of the Cliff Hanger, there’s your very own free falling Frog Hopper.
Take a ride on the traditional Carousel or enjoy your train journey around Little Monster’s Mischief Mansion where you will come face to face with our resident Little Monsters – Little Mummy, Little Drac and Little Yeti.
And don’t forget to jump aboard the new Daktari Express and take a look at all our new animal exhibits – hippos, rhinos and giraffes.
At Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo there’s no less than five superb family shows. Each one is performed at least four times throughout the day allowing you enough time to see them all.
Professor Bubble’s Jungle Jive Show – This all singing, all dancing musical extravaganza will have you tapping your feet in time to the beat. Themed around our new attraction, The Lost Kingdom, Professor Bubbles, our mad mascot, and his crew find themselves in the jungle. Discover what happens on their crazy journey.
The Sea Lion Show – probably the most impressive Sea Lion show in the country, take your seats and be entertained by Benson, Barley and Bella. A very informative and amazing show full of acrobats, mischief and comedy. A real family favourite.
The Parrot Show – Be amazed as our feathered friends chat on the phone, go skating, walk the tight rope and even add up. Is there no end to their talents?
For those of you who are staying in our Holiday Village there’s no fewer than five clubs and bars to choose from. In the American and Plaza Bars there’s something for everyone from the Little Monster’s Children’s Hour, where your little monsters get the chance to meet our little monsters, to the all singing, all dancing cabaret shows that are guaranteed to be a hit with all the family. The Traders Bar on the other hand, allows the adults to catch their breath for a couple of hours and enjoy the adult entertainment on offer.
Our zoo is home to over 1,000 animals, including Siberian Tigers, Grants Zebras, Bactrian Camels, Monkeys, Sea Lions, Reptiles, Humboldt Penguins and Meerkats.
We also of course, have our famous pink flamingos, the largest flock in the country. In our Bird Walk you can see birds of all sizes from our ostriches to the tiny finches.
Recent arrivals in the zoo include three Giraffes, two white Rhinoceros, and two Hippopotamus. These magnificent creatures have taken up their new residence in the Lost Kingdom – our spectacular ten acre themed area which will also incorporate some of our existing animal exhibits such as the Zebras and the South American Flamingos. Other species on display in our extensive zoo are the Brazilian Tapir, South American Alpaca, European Lynx and Pelicans.
We are offering our visitors the opportunity to adopt some of our fantastic species. For further information on this please call Sean Drayton on 01653 669021 or 01653 668287.
In addition to this we also have our Children’s Farm. As well as the traditional farm animals, the Flamingo Land Children’s Farm is home to Pansy the Pot-Bellied Pig, a family of Pygmy Goats and a baby miniature donkey and his mother.
